Peoples Education Project

The Peoples Education Project seeks to advance socialism through education, discussion, and dialog. We work to provide a solid foundation for the application of Socialist ideals in the fight for social, economic and racial justice.

The Peoples Education Project is based on the principles of popular education. The goal of popular education is to develop people’s capacity for social change through a collective problem-solving approach emphasizing participation, reflection, and critical analysis of social problems. Key characteristics of popular education are as follows: everyone teaches and learns, so leadership is shared; starting with learners’ experiences and concerns; high participation; creation of new knowledge; critical reflection; connecting the local to the global; and collective action for change.

Peoples Education Project meets the second and fourth Saturdays of every month from 2:00-4:00pm.

Join us as we meet and discuss the writings of important activists and philosophers. Upcoming topics include: Environmentalism and Capitalism, Politics of Central and South America, The world of Capitalist Finance, Imperialism.
